- You have a number of options for completing certification: online courses, webinars, live classroom or the fast-track assessment.
Register for a Xero certification
Xero advisor certification is designed to give you the knowledge and skills you need to get the most out of Xero's features.
You need to register before you can start:
- Log in to Xero Central.
- Select the Learning tab, then click Choose a learning programme.
- Click Xero advisor certification, then click Register.
View courses and lessons
Once you’ve opened the programme and registered, you’ll see a list of ways to get certified.
If you're a Xero partner, you can choose between online courses, webinars, classroom or the fast-track assessment. Other users can only access online courses or the fast-track assessment.
Online courses
If you’ve chosen to do the online courses, you must complete them all to become certified.
- Log in to Xero Central.
- Select the Learning tab, then click Choose a learning programme.
- Choose the certification, then click Register.
- Under Online courses, select a course, then click on a lesson to start.
Select a course to open it and you'll see the individual lessons. We've designed the lessons to be bite-sized, and you can complete them in any order. You must complete all the lessons in each course.
Click on a lesson to start. Xero saves your progress when you close your browser tab, so you can pick up where you left off.
What to expect from a lesson
In a lesson, you can expect:
- An introduction with a quick overview of what you’ll learn
- Sections of content for you to step through
- Assessment questions to test your knowledge
- A final summary of what you’ve learned
Step through at your own pace, and complete the assessment questions at the end of the lesson. You'll need to successfully answer all of the assessment questions in order to complete the lesson, but don’t worry if you get some of the questions wrong. You can reset them, and it won't affect your progress.
Check your progress
You can track your progress through the curriculum as a percentage above the course list. You'll see your progress through a particular course in a status bar above the lessons.
In lessons, the navigation uses green ticks to show you which sections you've completed. Click on a section without a tick to step through and complete it.
Successfully completing the assessment questions at the end of each lesson is the only requirement for it to be marked as complete.
Webinar or classroom
If you choose the webinar or classroom option, you must attend the live event and complete the assessments.
To access the assessments:
- Log in to Xero Central.
- Select the Learning tab, then click Choose a learning programme.
- Choose the certification, then click Register.
- Scroll down to Live webinar or Live classroom, then click on the certification.
- Click Assessment 1.
Fast-track assessment
The fast-track assessment is designed for those experienced advisors who've already been using Xero but haven't yet achieved their certification. You must successfully answer 80 percent of the assessment correctly and can only try once. If you don’t pass the assessment, you’ll need to complete the full certification programme.
